Outreach
- Clothes Closet
- Centenary Clothes Closet needs volunteers to help serve members of our community who need clothing assistance.
- Adopt-A-School Program
- The primary focus of Centenary’s “Adopt-A-School Program” is to provide “targeted” assistance to the adopted school and assist them in their efforts to provide opportunities for all students to reach their maximum potential.
Centenary’s “Adopt-A-School Program” has been highly successful due to the numerous volunteers who devoted hours of their time to assisting the school with various educational programs and activities. Many volunteers participated in programs/activities throughout the school year. Among these included Registration Day, Open House, “Read for the Record” Day, Career Day, TCAP proctoring, volunteer tutoring, parent meetings and the annual Spelling Bee.

- Project 20/20
- Centenary United Methodist Church is now part of Project 20/20. Project 20/20 is a human service program that protects and improves the eyesight of disadvantaged persons of all faiths in underdeveloped areas of the world. Project 20/20 is possible because of volunteers and donations from many church denominations, community civic clubs, humanitarian organizations, medical offices, and the Southern College of Optometry. The donation boxes are in the narthex and in the Family Life Center.
- Summer Reading
- Project Transformation’s collaborative model of ministry harnesses the creative energy and leadership of college age young adults, who live in intentional Christian community, and lead summer and afterschool programs for children in various underserved neighborhoods. Each week, interns meet with church and nonprofit leaders to explore various ministry-related vocations and spend time discerning their vocational call to life-long service.
